the good times

So this is what I wrote last night:
"I wish all my friends were here. or would read this blog! I love my life! the little things! they rock. just got lost on my way home to my new place in the sticks... got picked up by the swiss firemen that drove me home. and now I am standing in the snow on my balcony drinking cider listening to music on my ipod thinking that life is good. wish you all were here to share the moment. old friends reconnected, awesome view, j-pop, and the internets to share the happiness..."
Repetitive - check, Rambling - check, overly gushy and happy - check... Note to self: do NOT blog in the middle of the night after a drink or two. Same rule applies to calling, texting, emailing and facebook status updates. Will I ever learn?

How Hallyu supports Changes

New job, new country, new city and no holiday to speak of inbetween. The snow ended my trip to Kenya but at least I got a lot of sleep and food over xmas before this crazy 2 weeks started.

So I moved over the last years from getting Dog Food from source to consumer, to Nappies, Crisps, Men's Clothing and now Bling Bling Jewellry... I am moving up in the world, as do the things I bring home from the company shop. I will also move about in the world a lot (it's called up to 70% business travel in my contract), always having a great huge bright flat in the swiss mountains to call home after the latest business adventure. Curiously this is the first time I am not overexcited about it all but actually fairly relaxed. Everytime I have done the uprooting before (fourth time!) Excitable ME made it all fun but a bit stressful, but somehow not this time. It is weird, maybe experience really cools one down. Or maybe the fact that I had a desk, a flat and a great mountain view from my desk helped me settle... who knows. I actually suspect it is my new re-discovered obsession with Korean Dramas that kept my mind firmly on something entirely different.

I really liked Marry me Mary, thought Secret Garden was weird but the male lead is awesome, IRIS is really addictive but I know how it ends (sniff sniff), re-watched You're beautiful, and loooove My princess. My Korean is coming along nicely (I can say the important things: I am sorry, I love you, Hello, Thank you ;-). I have thoroughly establised though that I prefer Romantic Comedies, especially the Taiwanese and Korean ones, do like Japanese classic comedy Shojo re-imagings (HamaKimi) as well as other Manga/Manwha remakes (Mars), but do not like Manking story lines at all. No lost parents, weird illnesses, sudden amnesia, and all other contrived story lines for me. Keep it simple people (i.e. Full House), go for the good looking male leads (and please let them be Men and not boys - Coffee Prince!), and throw in a good dose of humour, and this weird fangirl is happy - for the time being at least.

Because let's face it, I have no friends in this swiss mountain village bar my geeky hobbies and thus will burn through my multiple geek interests in a fast rate during the 30% I am at home. Next stop not yet defined, but most likely it goes back to Manga/Manwha as just recently completed the cycle of US TV shows, then Urban Fantasy books, now Korean dramas, ie it is time again for COMICS. I need to prepare for Comic-Con 2011 anyway ;-). Happy 2011, and Keep it Geek
